South Essex
South Essex Stop Smoking Service provides a free service to smokers within the localities of Southend, Westcliff, Leigh, Shoebury, Basildon, Castle Point & Rochford, Billericay, Brentwood and Wickford. The service provides specialist support and help by trained advisors for people who wish to stop smoking. We address the nicotine addiction, habit and psychological elements to why people smoke.

Smokers are offered motivational group support and attend a stop smoking course once a week for 7 weeks. Smokers can self refer to the service or be referred by health professionals. Help is also available from stop smoking trained pharmacists and practice nurses. They offer one to one structured help and support to smokers in the local community.

The service also helps smokers in some workplaces and has dedicated stop smoking & pregnancy co ordinators.

Mid Essex
Mid Essex PCT Stop Smoking Service offers advice support to smokers who live in Chelmsford, Maldon, Witham , Braintree, Halstead and surrounding areas. We run clinics in a variety of locations with day-time and evening appointments available in both one-to-one or group sessions to suit your requirements. We can also advise you on the different stop smoking therapies and drugs available to you on prescription

West Essex
West Essex Stop Smoking Service provides free support for people living in the Harlow, Epping Forest and Uttlesford area. If you would like to give up smoking you have several options of where you can get support and advice:

  • the PCT's stop smoking team - we will talk you through your
    options of different clinics available.
  • your local GP
  • selected pharmacies across West Essex

If you are aged between 13 and 25 and want to give up we also have The One Stop Shop located in Harlow, this is a free confidential walk in health service. An NHS nurse can give you help and advice about giving up smoking.

Tendring and Colchester
Tendring and Colchester stop smoking support service.
We can offer you either one to one support with a trained stop smoking adviser over a period of 5 to 6 weeks or more intensive support over 7 to 8 weeks in a group setting. We aim to provide a place and time to suit you, either in Tendring or Colchester.

Thurrock Quit Smoking Service
Covering the Thurrock area which includes Grays, South Ockendon, Tilbury and Stanford-le-Hope

Our service offers a 7 week course of group support based on the Maudsley Model, running one evening a week, usually lasting for about 1½ hours, at locations around the Thurrock area. These are free and are run by trained Smoking Cessation Advisors.

We also have a Specialist Smoking Cessation Advisor for Pregnancy.
